High Construction Earns Two Merit Awards at ABC Keystone Excellence in Construction Event
High Construction Company has been recognized with two Merit Awards at the ABC Keystone Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards, an annual celebration of the region’s most outstanding construction projects. The event honors contractors who demonstrate leadership, safety, innovation, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The EIC Awards program highlights the exceptional work of ABC Keystone members and offers winners the opportunity to advance to the National Excellence in Construction Awards, placing them among the “Best of the Best” in the industry.
AC Marriott Hotel – Newtown Square, PA
One of the honored projects was the AC Marriott Hotel, a five-story, 140-room property located in Newtown Square. Spanning nearly 65,000 square feet, the hotel features expansive meeting spaces, a full-service kitchen and bar, collaborative work areas, and a fitness center.
The project presented unique challenges, including intricate ceiling designs and complex MEP coordination. High Construction utilized advanced 3D BIM modeling alongside traditional drafting techniques to ensure precision and efficiency. Despite logistical hurdles posed by adjacent developments and evolving design requirements, the team delivered a sophisticated hospitality space that blends modern aesthetics with functionality.
UGI Utilities Inc. Lehigh Valley Operations Center – Bethlehem, PA
The second award-winning project was the UGI Utilities Inc. Lehigh Valley Operations Center, a multi-phased renovation and expansion of a facility originally built in the 1960s. The 78,000-square-foot renovation, coupled with an 11,000-square-foot addition, transformed the aging structure into a modern operations hub.
The project required meticulous planning to maintain UGI’s critical services throughout construction. High Construction implemented phased execution strategies, temporary utility solutions, and adaptive scheduling to keep operations running smoothly. The finished facility integrates office, warehouse, workshop, and locker room spaces and meets LEED Silver standards, underscoring a commitment to sustainability.
A Commitment to Excellence
“These awards reflect the dedication and expertise of our entire team,” said Mike Kreider, President of High Construction Company. “Both projects demanded innovative solutions and close collaboration, and we’re proud to see that effort recognized by ABC Keystone.”
High Construction’s recognition at the EIC Awards reinforces its reputation for delivering complex projects with precision, safety, and quality.
