Over a three-year period, High Construction served as a construction manager for Turkey Hill Dairy, building several additions and performing extensive renovation work on the company's ice cream and beverage processing plant in Conestoga, Pennsylvania. First, High Construction built a 25,000-square-foot ice cream freezer addition, complete with offices, restrooms, and a shipping/receiving dock. A new state-of-the-art palletizing system was installed in the existing ice cream freezer, and new power conveying equipment and fluid tanks were installed in the ice cream batching room. The ice cream freezer featured -20°F temperatures and 4,000 pallet positions. A new distribution dock designed for maintaining a 35°F temperature included five dock doors and an adjacent one-story administrative/dispatching office. High Construction then built the three-story, 33,000-square-foot addition for a new iced tea production line, automated box making, and automated palletizing; and new silos for fluid storage. Next, High Construction built an addition to the cream receiving alcove and new chemical receiving bay, which included two new 12,000-gallon cream silos. Two new 65,000-gallon raw silos were added to the existing raw receiving alcove, as well as a new transfer station for process waste. The last phase of work included a 16,350-square-foot addition to the beverage production plant. The project also involved creating a new, single entrance to the plant, new storm water basin, new pump station, a retaining wall, and two employee parking areas.
