LANCASTER, PAHigh Construction Company was selected to build the new Public Media Center for WITF Inc., in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pa.

"We are thrilled to play such a pivotal role in the creation of the first facility built specifically to meet the needs of WITF's public television and radio stations," says Jeff Sterner, president of High Construction. "We look forward to breaking ground in late spring so that WITF can move out of their cramped, outmoded space and into their new facility in late 2006."

WITF's new 75,000-square-foot Public Media Center will include production studios and offices and will consolidate WITF's existing operations. The new facility is critical to support the organization's growing staff and will provide several production studios to produce both local and national programming. It will also enable easy access for public tours. Currently WITF is operating out of an obsolete elementary school nestled in a residential area outside of Harrisburg.

The new facility will feature a brick exterior with architectural metal panels. A two-story atrium, with exposed structure overhead, will span the width of the building. Glass curtain wall will flank the entire North side of the structure where offices are located on both the first and second floors.

The 13-acre tract for the new facility is located off of the Swatara exit of I-283, at the corner of Lindle and Keckler roads in Harrisburg, Pa. This location will give WITF excellent visibility and will make the building very accessible to the public.

WITF's facility will be the second media center to be modernized in central Pennsylvania by High Construction. High Construction recently completed an addition and renovations to the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) facility in Camp Hill, Pa.

Additional information about WITF's new facility is available at http://www.witf.org/temps/statefunds.shtml.
