High Construction Company--Advanced Food Products (Major Smith)

This warehouse addition, built for Advanced Food Products, a division of French conglomerate Bongrain S.A., is critical to the company’s function as a co-packer that manufacturers long shelf-life dairy foods, and aseptically processes and packages them for well-known food companies. The addition was constructed using an economical pre-engineered metal building system. The 45-foot high facility provides maximum storage volume within the building footprint. The main roof is standing seam steel, with a lower pallet storage area under a metal deck roof overlaid with insulation and EPDM membrane. Liner panels were placed around the interior perimeter of the space to prevent damage from operations. Features of the addition include a single 40-foot high destratification heating and ventilating unit, rooftop exhaust fans to conserve space, and a fire pump to serve the ESFR fire protection system. Office and lounge space was provided, along with six dock doors. Site work included reconstruction of most of the existing parking lot and adding 120 vehicular parking spaces.
